Revocation and replacement of regulation 136A.

3. Regulation 136A of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

136A. (1) Section 36 of the District Court Ordin- ance shall have effect in relation to the offences to which this paragraph applies as if there were sub- stituted for the words "five years" in each place where they occur the words "ten years".

(2) Paragraph (1) shall apply to the following offences-

(a) any offence under these regulations;

(b)

any offence under the Explosive Substances Ordinance; and

(c) an offence under section 28, 29 or 30 of the Offences against the Person Ordinance.

(3) Paragraph (1) shall have effect whether the offence was committed before or after the commence- ment of this regulation and whether or not, in the case of an offence committed before the commence- ment of this regulation, proceedings for such effek had been instituted before ita commencement."

EMERGENCY (PRINCIPAL) REGULATIONS (COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 6) ORDER 1967.

In exercise of the powers conferred by regulations 137 of the Emergency (Principal) Regulations, the Governor has made the following order-

1. This order may be cited as the Emergency (Principal) Ciuation. Regulations (Commencement) (No. 6) Order 1967,

2. On the publication of this order in the Gazerie, the Emergency (Principal) Regulations specified in the Schedule shall come into operation.

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, bur is intended to indicate their general purport).

Regulation 2 extends the cases in which a court may order that criminal proceedings before it be conducted in camera.

Regulation 3 permits a District Court to impose a sentence of imprison- oment exceeding five yearn for offences against the Explosive Substances Ordinance and offences against section 28, 29 ar 30 of the Offences against the Person Ordinance.
