(d) by the addition at the end thereof of the following new
paragraphs-

(7) On application by an elector or by a person applying to be registered as an elector whose name does not appear on his identity card in Chinese, the registration officer may add to the entry in respect of such elector his name in Chinese.
(8) The omission from any entry in the register of any of the particulars specified in paragraph (4) shall not disqualify or debar the elector from voting at an election.
(9) On the application of any elector or on notice to any elector, the registration officer may correct any incorrect entry in the register.
The principal regulations are amended by the addition after regulation 3 of the following new regulation-

Form 2A.
SA. (1) If it appears to the registration officer that any person whose name appears on a register is dead or has left the Colony or whose name appears elsewhere in the register or who is no longer or has never been qualified as an elector, the registration officer may post by ordinary post to such elector a notice in accordance with Form 2A calling on such elector to complete and return within fourteen days of the date of such notice the part of such notice which is addressed to the registration officer.
(2) A notice in accordance with this regulation may be posted by the registration officer at any time between the 1st day of July and the 1st day of October in any year in which a provisional register is pre- pared in accordance with regulation 5 and shall be addressed to the elector at the address appearing in the register.
(3) If a notice in accordance with this regulation is sent to an elector and the portion addressed to the registration officer is not received by the registration officer within fourteen days of the date of the notice, the registration officer may delete the name of the elector from the provisional register.
(4) On or before the 1st day of December in each year in which a provisional register is compiled. the registration officer shall prepare a list of persons whose names have been removed from the register in accordance with the provisions of this regulation."

6. Regulation 7 of the principal regulations is amended by Amend the deletion of paragraph (1) and the substitution therefor of the ment of following-

(A) If the registration officer receives a notice of application for registration as an elector he shall forthwith either-
(a) rule that the applicant is entitled to be registered as
an elector;
(b) rule that the applicant is not entitled to be registered
as an elector; or
(c) refer the application back to the applicant for further
particulars or further proofs.".
