Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the rules, bat is intended to indicate their peneral purport).

The responsibility for the control of dairies throughout the Colony has recently been transferred to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. It is intended that dairies will be governed by regulations made under the Public Health (Animals and Birds) Ordinance, (Cap. 139), and reference to dairies and provisions relating thereto are accordingly removed from the principal rules.

It is considered desirable that the pasteurization of milk and cream be subject to the same controla as the sale, etc. of milk and cream in milk shops, and the principal rules are amended accordingly.
