9. (1) The returning officer shall publish in the Gazelte a notice of nominations in accordance with Form 8 of the Appendix in the case---

(u) of an annual election, not carlier than the arst February

and not later than the 28th February;

(b) of an extraordinary election, not earlier than two days and not later than nine days after the last day for receipt of nomination papers.

(2) A notice of nomination shall contain the following particulars-

(a) the full name in English and, if Chinese, in Chiuca

characters, place of residence and description, as these appear on the nomination paper, of each person who has heen and stands nominated;

(b) the full name in English and, if Chinese, in Chinese characters, place of residence and description, as these appear on the nomination paper, of each person who has been nominated and who no longer stands nominated with the reason why such person no longer stands nominated;

(c) the names of the persons standing nominated shall be arranged in the alphabetical order of their English surnames and if there are two or more of them with the same surname, of their other names, together with the names of the persuns subscribing to such nomination paper in respect of each candidate as shall have been selected by him or if no selection has been made the Arst valid nomination paper to be lodged in respect of such candidate ;

(d) if more persons stand nominated than the number of vacancies, the date and times of the election and the places at which voting will take place which shall be those places designated by the registration officer in accordance with regulation 4 of the Urban Council Elections (Registration of Electors) Regulations, 1955:

(c) if the number of persons standing nominated is equal to or less than the number of vacancies, a declaration that such persons are duly elected.

(3) Within seven days of the expiry of such period of sis months the returning officer shall publish in the Guseffe a notice of extraordinary election to fill the remaining vacancies and shall proceed to hold an extraordinary election ;

Provided that if such period of six months shall end between the 1st day of January and the 31st day of March in any year no notice of extraordinary election shall be published and the vacancy shall be filled by an annual election in accordance with Section + of the Ordinance.
