ROYAL COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS to COLONIAL OFFICE.

Royal College of Physicians, London, S.W. At a General Meeting of the President and Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians on July 28th, 1904, the following Resolutions were adopted :-

"1. That with the permission of the authorities of the School of Tropical Medicine, visitors, be appointed by the Royal Colleges of Physicians and of Surgeons to attend the examinations of that School, and to report upon the scope of the course of study and of examination, and that a request be addressed to the Naval, Military, and Colonial Authorities to allow visitors appointed by the two Royal Colleges to attend their examinations in Tropical Medicine for a similar purpose.
"2. That at the end of a year a report be addressed by these visitors to the Royal Colleges on the whole subject of Tropical Medicine."

2. The vouchers supplied, which are for the amount of £6 17s. 8d., have been examined by the Auditor-General and found correct; and the Acting Chairman of the Commission states that the difference (£2 4s. 5d.), for which no vouchers can be furnished, represents postage, the cost of guinea-pigs, rabbits, and beef, and the car- riage of an incubator from the Civil Hospital to the Public Health Laboratory.

Grenada, July 21, 1904. WITH reference to the previous correspondence* noted in the margin, I have the honour to report that the sum of fifty pounds has been placed on the current Estimates of Grenada, as the contribution promised to the Malaria Commission and London Tropical School, &c., and I shall be obliged if you will instruct the Crown Agents to whom they should pay the money.

Royal College of Surgeons of England, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, W.C., August 8, 1904. WITH reference to your letter of the 29th January (45148/1903),* regarding the institution of an examination and diploma in tropical medicine, I am desired by the President to state that the Council of this College, after consultation with the Royal College of Physicians, have adopted the following resolutions, viz. :-
1. That with the permission of the Authorities of the School of Tropical Medicine, Visitors be appointed by the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons to attend the examinations of that School and to report upon the scope of the course of study and of examination, and that a request be addressed to the Naval, Military and Colonial Authorities to allow Visitors appointed by the two Royal Colleges to attend their examinations in Tropical Medicine for a similar purpose. 2. WITH reference to your despatch, No. 121, of the 10th May, † I have the honour to report that the Legislative Council of St. Kitts-Nevis have voted a sum of £25. as a contribution from that Presidency in aid of the investigation of tropical diseases, and the Crown Agents may be instructed to pay over this sum.

I HAVE the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch, Accounts, No. 637, of the 8th ultimo, informing me that the sum of £100 has been received by you from the Basutoland Government as a contribution in connection with the investigation of malaria and other tropical diseases, and that the above sum will appear in the High Commissioner's Account for the month of July, 1904.
2. Previously to the receipt of your despatch I had caused instructions to be given to the Crown Agents for the Colonies for the transfer from the Basutoland
