YOUR ROYAL HIGHNESSES,
I have been desired by many inhabitants of the undernamed
Colonies to present for your gracious acceptance a sum of money
which they have collected, and to request that Your Royal
Highnesses will have the goodness to select some object to be a
Memorial, on this occasion of your Silver Wedding, of the loyal
affection with which Your Royal Highnesses are regarded by
these Colonies.
Contributions have also been received from Cyprus and the
Transvaal.

I desire to add that, as the subscriptions were limited to
small amount, the number of persons contributing is very large,
and has included all classes, and both Europeans and Natives.
