that, pending instructions, Dr. Campbell will act as Medical Officer in charge and Dr. Washburn as Second Medical Officer, and suggests that the services of Dr. Covington as Second Assistant Medical Officer should be applied for.

Encloses copies of minutes and reports by the Medical Officers regarding the incidence of ankylostomiasis in the Colony, and makes observations on

them.

Expresses satisfaction at the approval of the revised budget and plan of action for the campaign in St. Lucia, and observes that recent reports in- dicate very satisfactory progress.

Notifies arrival of Dr. Washburn in Trinidad, and states the circum- stances in which he has been appointed to the post of Assistant Medical Officer; inquires whether the services of Dr. Covington can be placed at the disposal of the Governor.

Inquires, in view of the shortage of medical men, as to the suitability of Dr. Campbell for the substantive post vacated by Dr. Dodd, and adde that the International Health Com- mission is being communicated with with regard to the services of Dr. Covington.

Reports that, in spite of efforts, no satisfactory progress has been made towards the eradication of ankylos- tomiasis in the Colony; encloses a copy of a minute by Dr. Hutson recommending that assistance be sought from the International Health Commission, and that, if a cam- paign is started, Dr. Grannum be placed in charge.
