Recommends, in reply to No. 1, that the British South Africa Company be asked to allow Dr. R. U. Moffat to go up to the infected area and make a preliminary report and take any im- inediate steps that may be necessary.

Transmits copy of a letter from the Acting Principal Medical Officer giving cover to a report by Dr. Wiggins on the subject of the formation of a settlement in Kavirondo for natives removed from fly-infected districts; and copies of the minutes of a meeting between the Provincial Commissioner and the Acting Principal Medical Officer, and instructions "issued as to the management of the settlement.

Transmits the Epidemic and Contagious Diseases Amendment Ordinance, 1908, together with a certificate and report by the Acting Attorney-General, and observes that the Act increases the penalties imposed by the original Act for breaches thereof.

Urges the desirability of a Conference of local medical officers and adminis- trators, with power to collect evidence as regards both human and animal trypanosomiasis and to make recom- mendations, and suggests that the conference be held whilst Society's Commission

States purport of No. 9; and instructs him to arrange the Conference with the East Africa Protectorate authorities as soon as possible and to include Sir D. Bruce and his colleagues therein.

States in reply to No. 10 that a Confer- ence was held in Nairobi on April 26-30, and that a detailed report of the proceedings will be forwarded when received.

States that Mr. Lang has been found to have trypanosomiasis, and requests that a careful investigation of the distribution of sleeping sickness and tsetse flies in the Protectorate may be made, and that Europeans in Mr. Lang's district may be warned to take precautions.

Sends a report on the measures taken in North-Eastern Rhodesia to prevent the spread of sleeping sickness and of the probability of its introduction into North-Western and Southern Rhodesia.
