Transmits report of the proceedings at the first day's meeting of the Con- ference of medical and veterinary officers held on April 26-29 to discuss subjects relating to sleeping sickness, and states that a draft ordinance is being introduced at the next meeting of the Legislative Council embodying as far as possible the recommendations of the Conference.
Asks, with reference to No. 23, whether it is desired that the Society should take immediate action on the recom.. mendation of the Conference that the Society should be invited to appoint a small commission to work out the distribution and investigate the causes of human and animal disease in the East Africa Protectorate.

Transmits Memorandum by the Director of the Sleeping Sickness Bureau as to the preparation of maps to show dis- tribution of tsetse flies in Africa, and requests that steps be taken to secure all possible information.

Forwards copy of a letter from the Gov- ernment of India setting forth reasons why they are not disposed to recom- mend a contribution from Indian revenues to the funds of the proposed Tropical Diseases Research Bureau, and states that Lord Morley has decided to adopt the views expressed. Submits, in reply to No. 37, a fuller statement of the case in the hope that Lord Morley and the Indian Govern- ment may find it possible to re-con- sider their decision.
