SIR,

No. 1.

CEYLON.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE to THE GOVERNOR.

(Miscellaneous.)

Downing Street, January 10, 1908. I HAVE the honour to inform you, with reference to the 7th paragraph of my despatch "Miscellaneous," of the 4th of October last,* that it has been found neces- sary to place at the disposal of Mr. A. Hugh Fisher, a further sum of £150 in addition to the £200 which the Colonial Treasury has already been empowered to advance to him.

I have to request, therefore, that you will be good enough to authorise the Treasurer to instruct the Agents at Calcutta to issue to Mr. Fisher such sums as he may require up to the total of £350.

The advances will be repaid to the Ceylon account with the Crown Agents.
