Learns with satisfaction of the vote of the Combined Court for £100 towards the cost of lectures, and transmits copies of Nos. 35, 55, 56, 80, and 81; explains the arrangements made for simplify ing the question of copyright, and states that Mr. Mackinder has been authorized to provide a lantern und set of slides for British Guiana.

Observes that it was incorrect to say, as in No. 69, that the arrangement come to for the purchase of the copyright by the Cape could not be carried out, but expresses hope that the scheme now agreed to will be satisfactory.

what answer should be returned.

Acknowledges receipt of No. 86; regrets that there has been some misunder- standing and suggests that Sir Walter Egerton should be requested to for- ward some photographs of Lagos.
