LAW OFFICERS TO FOREIGN OFFICE.
In our opinion Sir William Dunn may properly be permitted to sell the wool in question pursuant to the instructions received. We understand that the wool has been consigned to Sir William by two firns in the Free State with which his firm has had previous business transactions, that no advances have been obtained against the documents by the consignors, and that no part of the proceeds will directly or indirectly be remitted to the firnis in question, but that the only result of the transactions will be that the amounts now due to Sir William Dunn will be reduced by the net amounts realised. Under these circumstances we think that licence may properly be given to Sir William Dunn's firm to sell the wool pursuant to the instructions.
