Requests that the Muslim Literary Club, Galle, be informed that the resolution enclosed in No. 1 will receive consideration; inquires as to how far the views expressed in this resolution are shared by the general Muslim population of Čeylon.

Reports debate in the Legislative Council upon suggestions for the further reform of the political con- stitution of Ceylon upon a motion moved by Mr. James Peiris, and discusses the various suggestions in detail; encloses copy of a memorial respecting the views of the Tamil community.

Forwards a memorial from Mr. Cader setting forth certain resolutions_re- garding the representation of Mo- hammedans in the Legislative Council.

Requests that Mr. Cader be informed that the resolutions contained in the memorial enclosed in No. 4 will receive attention when the general question of representation in the Legislative Council is considered.

passed at a public meeting of Mus. lims at Jaffna on 14th January pro- testing against the representation of the Mohammedan community by nominated members, and the inade- quacy of the seats to be allotted to Mohammedans.

States conclusions arrived at with re- gard to the proposals contained in the Resolutions submitted in No. 8.

Forwards a Joint Memorandum of 22

European, Burgher, Tamil, Mo- hammedan and Indian members of the Legislative Council on the re- constitution of that Council, and recommands that the proposals therein should receive careful con- sideration.

Forwards, with observations, a Mom- orial from the Ceylon National Con- gress on the subject of constitutional reform,
