States, in reply to No, 165, that the rate at which the Mauritius 4 per cent. Bonds can be renewed or replaced depends on the future state of the market, and that the Crown Agents are deferring action pending the arrival of the Ordinance.
Asks for further information as to the special allowances received by Mr. de Coriolis for railway surveys; agrees with the proposal to defer further consideration of the whole question of branch railways until after the arrival of Sir C. Boyle; enquires whether any arrangements have yet been made for assisting the small planters.
