"I cannot avoid holding a press conference hero tomorrow Jung 8th which will include repres- entativos of American papers. Elliot signalled Price pers. nally on June 3rd in anticipation of this possibility asking for information about fresh developments which might be of help in talking to the press but nothing has really arose cut of this. What would be of real encouragement to them horo would be to know that we have decided to song further reinforcements but I have hitherto scrupulously avoided any suggestion even by inforence of this possibility. If you will defin- itely not be releasing decision on further reinforc- emonts before 0230 June 8th would you agree to my going so far as to tell the press conference tomorrow that I am here on instructions of the Cabinot to consider on the spot among other questions that of further reinforcements. Press conference is at 1030 hours local time (0230 B.S.T.)"?
