This seemed the main adm problem both at Bde and En Ho and there is a good deal of misunderstanding about the general tpt situation and what our tpt resources are.
(a) Unit Tpt. The maximum entitlement of ALL Field Units
(incl Ede HQ) is the tpt authorised on their establishment which has been divided by G (SD) into:-
Column (a) Tpt which can be used every day
(b) Tpt to be used for training on authority
of GOC.
and ALL vehicles of both columns should be with the unit.
Column (a) and (b) = WE of Tpt, i.e. all units are entitled to for exercises of war, unless the AE is changed or authority is given for extra issues. Units can use tpt in coln (b) for daily duties to replace vehicles in coln (a) temporarily off the road.
It should be noted that ur field units had their tpt pooled under the RASC therefore colns (a) and (b) repre- sents their full entitlemont. Ede will make units render a fortnightly tpt availability state to the SC ("Q" Branch HQLF to do same in case of 25 TJ Regt) to show:-

Fit Vehicles
Vehicles in or awaiting Unit "ksp Vehicles in or awaiting REMC "ksp Vehicles deficient.
It should be noted that all vehicles issued count against unit holdings, whether fit or not unless they are actually BLR by REME,
This return will keep us in the picture regarding the true state of unit transrort at any time and whether the bottle- nock for their troubles is Unit Wksp, KEME Wksp or Ord (for replacements due).
The next step is to ensure units have worked out and practised proper load tables for their vehicles, and can in fact lift their essential arms and stores.
The above having been done, if at any time a unit has to move operationally:-
