(c) Patrols

Then the political situation permits be prepared to patrol forward into Chinese territory carrying out demolitions on the railway North of SHAN CHUN HU and gaining early warning of an intended attack. (d) Colony Reserve. Until the H.K.V.D.C. infantry battalion

is fully trained it to be kept as Colony reserve in WHITFIELD BARRACKS under command the G.O.C. From here it can be used either to reinforce the battle or on I.S. duties in KOLCON or on HONG KONG Island. When it is trained this role should be taken

in turn by

the Regular infantry battalions and the H.K.V.D.C. battalion.

(e) I.S. Duties.

(i) The Civil Police, supported by Police Auxiliaries

and H.K.V.D.C. Auxiliaries with an infantry battalion in support to be responsible for I.S. Duties in HONG KONG, KO LOON and the NEW TERRITORIES.

(ii) The H.K.V.D.C. Auxiliaries to relieve Regular Troops.

Northest of SHEUNG SHUI.

(f) Road bridge in square 4213, together ith selected bridges on the road FANI ING - YUEN LONG - KOLCON.

(g) Rear positions. The defiles-

(i) In square 5319.

(ii) In square 4117

to be held each by one rifle company.

(h) Naval Support
