Comittee then considered Item 55(a) (11) Agriculture. Gerig complimented H.M.G. on agricultural policy and in partieulag on measuree detailed on page 19 of Document A/917. Marchena (Dominican Republic) also commended H.M.Q's. agricultural efforts in the Carribbean and suggested that bìa country might become a centre of agricultural training and research in that a709. Ryckmans stressed importance of considering all these problems on a world, or at least on a regional basis, irrespective of political status of territory congemed, Gerig and I observed that despite Resolution 218 (111) paregraph 3 there appeared to be practically no (repeat ho) comparable material in these analyses from member states of United Nations of similar climatic vegetational and physical cireumstances.
