RETURN OF KOWLOON
MEMBERS OF VARIOUS ASSOCIATIONS HOLD URGENT MEETING.
CITIES OF CHINA REQUESTED TO TAKE UNIFORM ACTION.
After the Kowloon incident various societies in Tsingtao became very indignant. The local Government Party, whose feeling it is that the British are driving destitute Chinese out of their homes without reason, held an urgent meeting yesterday morning which was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, The Labour Union, The Education Association, The City Councillors, The Pressmens Association end other merchant associations.

Mr. Tsung Fang-shan ( ) a member of the local Government, took the chair at the meeting. His opening speech gave such touching descriptions and detailed reports of aggressive actions of British in China - with special note to the Kowloon incident that the listeners shed tears. (!!!)
After further speeches the following decisions were made:-

1.
To telegraph to the Generalissimo requesting him to take strong action with the British authorities regarding this matter and to yeild them no concessions until Kowloon is returned to the Chinese; to telegraph to the citezens of Kowloon (in the area affected) to the effect that the citizens of Tsingtao will assist them; also, to telegraph to all the organisations and associations in other cities of China to the same effect.
2.
All Tsingtao newspapers will be notified that they are required to publish articles on the Wowloon Incident, daily for one week.
3.
To intensify propaganda in the schools and later,
to hold mass demonstrations.
4.
To place placards and slogans in conspicuous positions around the town; to exhibit slogans in places of public entertainment and movie theatres; and to broadcast on the subject at prescribed times.
The masses of Tsingtao will support the Government on this issue.
