A k віја. Вверно імби

I entered my present house in Nov. 02 and up' to

the time of ry going home, in /04, I had hoarders staying with me nearly the whole of the time.

I cannot but think that the questions relating to

my hanking a/c were prompted by the remarks made by Kr Run!ahn, to which I referred in my evidence, and also by the action of Mr Carter in holding back information which would have cleared me.

As he has also insinuated that my Dept was not properly conducted, I draw your attention to the fact that more than $200 was expended on apparatus hy him, within two months of my leaving for home in /04. Nearly the whole of this expenditure was unnecessary, as the articles were not required and are now lying idle. After my return in /05 I frequently called Mr Carter's attention to the fact that he was condemning good concrete, and you will`probably recollect that I drew official attention to the matter in respect of houses in Station St, Yaumati, and Salisbury Avenue. I have in my possession at the office samples of concrete condemned by Mr Carter, taken from two houses in Hing Tung St, which I would like the Commission to examine. I have no hesitation in saying that during /05 and /06 owners of property were put to much unnecessary expense, amounting to several hundreds of dollars, owing to the action taken by Mr Carter.

I am, Sir,

Your obediert servant,

ngd. Jno. J. Bryan.
