I see, Dr Pearse, that on the 28th July 1904, in these

Minutes, (Minutes produced by Dr Pearse) there is a

note downunder the heading of Building Buthority

(quotes). The Minutes of that Meeting are signed by Dr

Pearse, who appears to have been Chairman. I presume

that probably at that time the little blue covered book

was passed ?

On the 6th July 1905, Dr Clark, in the Chair, under the

heading of Foo Sik, "Inspector Allen was instructed to

sign no bills, unless made out in Yoo gik's name, or

unless made out by Too gik himself". Can you remember

anything about these bills, and why such a Kinute should

appear in the book. What question had arisen as to Too

Sik, and what had Mr Allen to do with it.7

It may have had something to do with the burials at

Kennedytown Cemetery. Foo Sik, is, I think, the

contractor for making trenches.

13990

He has the contract for cemeteries and works under Kr

Bryan ?

A.

I think he also has the contract for removing bodies

from the Mortuary for burial.

13991

But you cant tell us why such a note should have been

made ?

I cant remember the actual facts of the case now.

Was there some question as to improper payment of money

to Too Sik ↑

A.

I dont think there was anything of that kind, I think

it was just a warning to Inspector Allen, that he

should not put himself into any falas position. As far

Mr Shelton Hooper:-

as I remember, there was no question of irregularity. Were the bills made out by Allen ?
