I think we may take it on that assumption that he did,
and if he had recommended it, why did Dr Clark write
any minute to a Sanitary Inspector? Dont you think
it irregular, if it was recommended by such an expert
as Professor Simpson ?
"As a general rule, the Sanitary Board need not trouble
to send for analysis, disinfectants that do not mix
well with water, as such cannot be recommended”.

That is Mr Browne's minute, and I said to the Secretary,
practical *evidently this preparation is no use unless properly
mized," and then I sent that to the M. 0. H. to note,
and the M. O. X. sends it to Inspector Reidie, who is
in charge of the disinfectants, with this minute, *I
believe that this substance has been found more suitable
for wahing purposes than Jeyes Fluid. Is this not so ?"
and Reidie says in replƒ "Yes, it is very suitable for
sleansing purposes. It is in general use in Hospitals
