In this report of Mr Browne's, it states that: "The preparation owes any value it may possess to the presence of 21.2 % of carbolic ació, rendered soluble by means of caustic soda. The odour of carbolic acid la covered by oil of mirbane. It does not mix at all easily with water, and cannot be recommended for any purpose whatever unless care be taken to see that a proper solution has been
formed". It is a dirty disinfectant.

workmen, as you have to do here, the mixing is not properly carried out, and consequently there was an
advantage in favour of Jayes Fluid, for the reason that
the slightest stir mixes it with water at once ▼
I think it mixes just as well with water as Jeyes
Fluid.

Didnt the Analyst in a minute, - it must have been 71.588 after that, - suggest that no more disinfectants that
would not mix with water be sent to him for analysis ?
