Note by the Secretary
At their meeting on 17th April the Chiofs of Staff approved a report by the Joint Planning: Staff oxamining the arrangements to be made for the command of the three Services in Hong Kong after the return of civil government and instructed the Secretary to send a copy of the roport to the Colonial Office for their concurrence.
The Colonial Office has intimated concurrence to the arrangements contained in the report by the Joint Planning Staff and have requested that they be informod immediately of any instructions that are issued to the Service Chiefs so that the Governor of Hong Kong can be informed of the arrangements.
In anticipation of instructions of the Chiefs of Staff the Admiralty, or Office and Air Ministry are invited to prepare and issue the necessary instruction to their respective Service Commandera in Hong Kong sending a copy of any such instructions issued to the Colonial Office.
