After consultation with Hong Kong Defence Committee and with the agreement of all members, I request that British Defence Committee in South Baet Asic will give urgent consideration to the following difficulties which have arisen in connection with the future Garrison of Hong Kong.

2.

It was agreed by South East Asia Committee at a meeting on 30th August that the minimum permanent Garrison required for Hong Kong from next Spring Tould be one British Brigade of Infantry and one Regiment or Field Artillery, with another Brigade and another Field See Regiment readily available to reinforce Hong Kong. top seoret telegram to S.
