Ministry saying they could not understand the need for an Air Services Department here and refusing to supply any personnel. This does not worry me as the time is past when temporary service people can be of any use. I have planned a staff reorganisation of the old Directorate of Air Services but I do not think that the Brigadier is inclined to submit it to the Colonial Office until the resumption of civil government."

0. in 0. Hong i ong's telegram GA 1796 of 1st February refers to the suggested course for Mr. 0.F. Hamilton but you will

note that Wing Commander Oxford speaks of a four weeks' course and that the telegram only mentions a week's course, which is obviously incorrect.

Wing Commandar Oxford will by now have seen C. D. Savingram to 0. in 0. Hong Kong of 12/2/46 (27116 C.R.) regarding Moss' return but I should be grateful if you could let me know when Hamilton is expected to be fit and whether Communications Department oan arrange the suggested course for him, so that I can give Oxford some idea of Hamilton's departure date.

I enclose a spare copy of this minute in care you wish

to pass it to Communications Dapartmanrk.
