SITING OF WIRELESS STATIONS IN HONGKONG

Note by Secretary

The Chiefs of Staff at their meeting on 31st Janury, 1946, considered telegram DTG291356 (see Annex) from the Commander-in-Chief, Hong-Kong, on the siting of wireless stations in Hong-Kong; and invited the British Joint Communi- cations Board, consulting as necess.ry with the Imporial Communications Committee, to examine the Commander-in-Chief, Hong-Kong's proposals, at an early date.

The British Joint Communications Board has examined these proposals and recommends that, since the problem is so...cwhat similar to that already being considered in respect of Malaya, it should be considered by the Technical Sub-Committee of the Imperial Communications Co mittce. The Commander-in-Chief, Hong Kong's proposals are accordingly circulated for carly consideration by the Technical Sub-Committee.

The Chiefs of Staff informed the Commander-in-Chief, Hong Long, that on the sepumption that his proposals aro agreed in principle, he should forward tailed recommendations to the British Joint Comunications Board. These details will be circulated to the Puchnical Sub-Committee as soon a thuy are available. The 'ur office and ir ministry have been anked to forward to the Chr.irmen of the British Joint Comunications Board details of their future counications requirements in Hong Kong, and these details also will be circulated to the Technical Sub-Committee as soon as they are av ilnblo,
