CHEMICALS AND DRUGS.

Imports totailed $10.0 millions as compared with $5.4 millions, and exports $0.5 millions as pared with $3.4 millions.

Imports of Acids (all kinds) decreased from 13,800 piculs ($124,000) to 10,400 piculs ($97,800).

Imports of Pharmaceutical Products increased from $2.0 millions to $2.8 millions, and Unenumerated Rems from $935,000 to $1.8 millions.

CHINESE MEDICINES.

Imports totalled $22.1 millions as compared with $20.3 millions, and exports $17.0 millions as Compared with $13.8 millions; uncnumerated items accounted for $15.3 millions of the total imports,

compared with $13.3 millions.

Imports of Ginseng decreased from $4.1 millions to $3.5 millions.

DYEING AND TANNING MATERIALS.

Imports totalled $8.2 millions as compared with $4.7 millions, and exports $5.3 millions as com- pared with $8.6 millions.

Imports of Aniline Dyes (not including Indigo】 increased from $1.9 millions to $3.5 millions. There were increased imports from Germany, France and the United Kingdom.

Imports of Artificial Indigo increased from 13,000 pieuls ($14 millions) to 21,000 pieuls ($2.2 millions).

FOODSTUFFS AND PROVISIONS.

Imports totalled $155.3 millions as compared with $123.4 millions, and exports $118.6 millions as compared with $91.9 millions.

Imports of Beans (all kinds) decreased in volume, but increased in price from 5-19,000 pieuls ($4.0 millions) to 541,000 piculs ($1.6 millions).

Imports of Marine Delicacies (such as Agar Agar, Arabi, Beche de Mer, Conpoy, Cuttle Fish, Frowns and Shark Fins) decreased in volume from €8,000 pieuls to 67,000 piculs but increased in value from $4.2 millions to $4.3 millions.

Imports of Fresh Fish decreased from 180,000 piculs ($2.0 millions) to 130,000 piculs ($1.6 millions).

Imports of unenumerated Fish and Fishery Products increased from $4.2 millions to $4.7 millious. the chief source of supply being Japan.

Imports of Wheat Flour increased from 964,900 piculs ($7.9 millions) to 1.1 million piculs ($12.5 millions). Imports from U.S.A. increased from 48,000 piculs to 225,000 pients.

Imports of Rice (ull kinda) increased from 7.9 million piculs ($30.7 millions) to 8.2 million piculs ($58.9 millions).

Imports of Game and Poultry (live) were the saine at 2.5 million head, but the value increased from $1.9 millions to $2.1 millions.

Imports of Sugar full grades) decreased in volume but increased in value. Imports amounted to 27 million piculs ($20.1 millions) as compared with 3,0 million pieuls ($17.4 millious) Exports of Refined Sugar amounted to 938,000 pieuls ($9.0 millions) as compared with 1.2 million picuds ($8.8 millions).

Imports of Fresh Fruits decreased from 655,000 piculs ($4.9 millions) to 4890,000 piculs (31.2) axillions).

Imports of Tegetables (including dried and preserved vegetables) increased from 966,000 piculs ($5.2 millions) to 1.0 million piculs (86.1 millions).

Imports of Butter increased from $847,000 to $1.1 millious, Eggs from $2.5 millions to $2.7 nillions, ani Bacon and Ham from 1.1 million lbs. (8576,000) to 1.7 million lbs. ($958,000).
