Imports of Fuel Oil increased from 178,463 tons (88.4 millions) to 182.048 tons ($7.1 millions), but exports decreased from 100,155 tons ($5.3 millions) to 92,010 tons ($4.1 millions).
There was a decreased import from U.S.A. and an increased import from the Netherlands East Indies.
Exports of Diesel Oil increased from 57,488 tons ($2.8 millions) to 72,394 tons ($3.2 millions); South and Middle China accounting for the bulk of the exports.
Imports of Kerosene increased from 20.3 million gallons ($6.9 millions) to 21.8 million gallons ($7.8 millions), and exports from 8.5 million gallons ($1.5 millions) to 4.4 million gallons ($1.6 millions). Imports from the Netherlands East Indies decreased from 11.0 million gallons ($2.7 millions) to 0.8 million gallons ($15 millions), whilst imports from U.S.A. increased from 8.5 million gallons ($3.8 millions) to 15.5 million gallous ($6.3 millions). Exports to Kwong Chow Wan increased from 1.6 million gallons ($733,794) to 2.1 million gallons ($820,920).
Imports of Lubricating Oil decreased from 2.0 million gallons ($1.5 millions) to 1.9 million gallons ($1.3 millions), whilst exports increased from 1.5 million gallons ($10 million) to 1.8 million gallons ($1.1 millions).
PAINTS.
Imports totalled $1.5 millions as compared with $1.4 millions, and exports $1.2 millions as compared with $1.3 millions.
PAPER AND PAPERWARE,
Imports totalled $9.9 millions as compared with $9.7 millions, and exports $5.6 millions as compared with $7.0 millions.
Imports of Chinese Paper decreased from 99,000 piculs ($1.4 millions) to 77,000 piculs ($1.3 millions).
Imports of Printing Paper amounted to $3.1 millions and exports to $910,000. There were increased importa from Canada, Germany, Norway and U.S.A., whilst the Japanese share of this trade declined from $905,631 to $306,547.
PIECE GOODS AND TEXTILES,
Imports totalled $52.7 millions as compared with $66.6 millions, and exports $34.1 millions as compared with $48.7 millions.
It will be seen from the following table that the United Kingdom share of this trade steadily declined from 38.6% in 1982 to 13.6% in 1935 whilst the Japanese share progressively increased from 7.0% in 1982 to 30.3% in 1935.
