Ordinance No. 5 of 1874
Police Rate at 6% per cent for Houses in the City of Victoria and at 5% cent for Houses in British Kowloon and the outlying Villages of the Colony; and the Lighting Rate at 1 per cent, the Fire Brigade Rate at per cent and the Water Rate at 1¼ per cent per annum, for Houses in the City of Victoria.
The Rates are payable Quarterly in advance between the first and last days of the first month in each quarter.
These several Rates are chargeable on and recoverable from the owners of the Tenements in respect of which the above assessments have been made.
Fixed annually by the Governor in Executive Council under the Rating Ord. No. 12 of 1875, and Government Notification of 28th December, 1878.
