1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Mercantile Bank Note Stort uitle and Issue (Repeal) Ordinance 1978 and shall come into operation on a day commaÐ SENDEN. to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

(1) The Mercantile Bank Note Issue Ordinance is repealed.
Repeal and
(2) Notwithstanding the repeal of the Mercantile Bank Note Issue (Cap. 1) Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as "the repealed Ordinance") any notes issued, re-issued and circulated in Hong Kong by the Mercantile Bank Limited under section 3 of the repealed Ordinance at the date on which this Ordinance comes into operation shall be deemed to have been issued, re-issued and circulated in Hong Kong by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation under section 10 of The Hongkong and Cup, 70.3 Shanghai Banking Corporation Ordinance.
