section 42B.
Section 42B of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in subsection (1)—
(i) in paragraphs (a) and (b) by deleting "seven" wherever it occurs and substituting in each place the following
*ten":
(ii) by deleting paragraph (c) and substituting the following-
"(c) an allowance of these thousand dollars if the individual had living and was maintaining during the year of assessment an unmarried child who was-
it
(i) under the age of eighteen years;
(i) over the age of eighteen years but under the age of twenty-five years and was receiving full time education at a university, college, school or other similar educational establish- ment; or
(iii) over the age of eighteen years and was, by reason of physical or mental disability, in- capacitated for work,
and where the individual bad more than one such child an allowance of two thousand five hundred dollars for the second child, ons thousand five hundred dollars for the third child and one thousand dollars each for the fourth. fifth and sixth child and five hundred dollars for cach subsequent child:
Provided that-
(i) the total of the allowances to an individual in respect of his children shall not exceed eleven thousand five hundred dollars;
(ii) where two or more individuals are en- titled to claim an allowance under this para- graph in respect of the same child for the same year of assessment, the allowance due shall be apportioned on such basis as the Commissioner may decide having regard to the contributions made by each individual to the maintenance and education of the child during the year of assessment;":

(iii) by deleting paragraphs (4), (f), (g) and (A);
(b) by deleting subsection (2).

Section 63E(2)(a) of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "(b), (c) or (g)” and substituting the following-
*T8) or (c)".
5. The Second Schedule to the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) by deleting "For the year of assessment 1972/73 and
each year thereafter.” and substituting the following—
"For the year of assessment 1972/73."; and
(b) by inserting at the end thereof the following-
"For the year of assessment 1973/74 and each year thereafter.

6. Notwithstanding their repeat by this Ordinance, the pro- visions of sections 12(18) and 42B(U)(d), (f), (g) and (A) and 42B(2) of the principal Ordinance shall remain in force and shall have effect in relation to all assessments for any year of assessment preceding the year of assessment commencing on Est April 1973.
