EMERGENCY (GENERAL HOLIDAY) REGULATIONS 1971.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations—
1. These regulations may be cited as the Emergency Citation. (General Holiday) Regulations 1971.
2. Subject to the provisions of regulation 3, the twentieth day of December 1971, is appointed as a general holiday for the purposes of the Holidays Ordinance.
3. (1) The general holiday appointed by regulation 2 shall be kept as a boliday by every bank, but shall not be so kept by courts, educational establishments, public offices or Government departments.
(2) In this regulation. “bank" has the same meaning as in section 2 of the Banking Ordinance.

4. The general holiday appointed by regulation 2 shall be a "non-business day" for the purposes of the Bills of Exchange exchange. Ordinance.
