IMPORT AND EXPORT ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 60).

EXPORTATION (CERTIFICATES OF ORIGIN AND COMMONWEALTH PREFERENCE CERTIFICATES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1971.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 31 of the Import and Export Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Exportation (Certificates of Origin and Commonwealth Preference Certificates) (Amendment) Regulations 1971 and shall come into operation on the day appointed for the commencement of the Import and Export Ordinance.

1. Regulation 2 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) in the definition of "approved accountant", by deleting

"(2)"; and

(b) by deleting the definition of "authorized officer",

3. Regulation 3 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

"Power to appoint approved

3. The Director may appoint in writing any person, whose name is entered in the authorized list accountants, kept in accordance with section 131 of the Companies

Ordinance, to be an approved accountant for the pur poses of these regulations.”,

4. Regulation 5 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting paragraphs (4) and (5).

5. Regulation 6 of the principal regulations is amended in paragraph (2)-

(a) in sub-paragraph (c) by deleting "and/or" and substitut-

ing the following-

"or": and

(b) by deleting "prescribe" and substituting the following-

"determine".
