SLAUGHTER-HOUSES (NEW TERRITORIES)
(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1971.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, the Governor in Council bas made the following regulations

These regulations may be cited as the Slaughter-houses (New Territories) (Amendment) Regulations 1971 and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

Regulation 1 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting "take affect within" and substituting the following-

as a medical practitioner by a person who is resident outside Hong Kong.
A new forms of register for medical practitioners not resident in Houg Kong is also added to the principal regulatiool.

2. In these regulations, unless the context other- wise requires—
“authorized officer" means—
(a) a public officer appointed under paragraph
(I) of regulation 2A; and
(b) a health inspector;
"carcass" means the body of a dead animal;
"Director" means the Director of Urban Services;
"licensee" means a person to whom a licence is issued
under regulation 7:
“offal" means any part of a dead animal which is removed from the carcass during the process of dressing, other than the hide, hors and skin:
"senior veterinary officer" includes any veterinary officer and assistant veterinary officer authorized by the Director of Agriculture and Fisheries or by any Assistant Director of Agriculture and Fisheries to perform the duties of a senior veter-
