(0) The deck fine shall be a horizontal Line twelve inches in length and one inch in breadth marked amidships with its upper edge passing through the point where the continuation outwards of the upper surface of the freeboard deck inter- sects the outer surface of the shell Where the deck is partly sheathed amidships the upper edge of the deck line shall pasa Through the point where the continuation outwards of the upper surface of the actual sheathing al amidships intersects the outer surface of the shell.
(i) The horizontal freeboard line shall be fifteen inches in length and one inch in breadth, and two additional lines each three inches in length, and one inch in breadth, shall be located with their upper edges at distances of six inches, one above, and one below, the upper edge of the aforementioned hori- zontal line. All horizontal lines shall be at right angles to
■ vertical line thirteen inches in depth and one inch in widtb, which bisects the horizontal Unes.
(ii) The permitted freeboard shall be measured from the upper edge of the deck line to the upper edge of the horizontal freeboard line.
