"Court", "Council", "Senate" and "Convocation" mean, respectively, the Court, the Council, the Senate and Convocation of the University;"

Section 4 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "without any further licence" and substituting the following→→

subject to the Charities (Land Acquisition) Ordinance.",

Subsection (4) of section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting the following after "the Chancellor'-

"or Pro-Chancellor””.

6. Section 8 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting subsections (3) and (4) and substituting the following-

*(3) The Council may, on the recommendation of the Senate, form, dissolve or reform such institutes, schools, centres, units and other sub-divisions of studies and learning as it may from time to time consider desirable.”.

7. Section 12 of the principal Ordinance is usended-

(a) in subsection (1), by inserting the following after "the

Chancellor,"

"the Pro-Chancellor.";

(b) by inserting the following new subsection after subsec-

tion (3)

"(3A) The Chancellor may appoint a person to be the Pro-Chancellor of the University. The Pro- Chancellor shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed by the statutes.": and

(c) by inserting the following new subsection after subsec-

tion (5)-

"(SA) If, by reason of an amendment to the statutes, an officer ceases to be designated as such. he shall nevertheless continue to be entitled to the protection, with respect to the termination of his appointment, conferred by subsection (5)".

The principal Ordinance is amended by adding the fol- lowing new section after section 15-

16. Nothing in this Ordinance shall affect or be deemed to affect the rights of Her Majesty the Queen, Her Heirs or Successors, or the rights of any body politic or corporate or of any other persons except such as are mentioned in this Ordinance and those claiming by, from or under them.".

This printed impression has been carefully compared by me with the Bill which passed the Legislative Council on the 10th day of January, 1968, and is found by me to be a true and correctly printed copy of the said Bill.
