EMERGENCY REGULATIONS ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 241),

EMERGENCY (PUBLIC HEALTH AND URBAN SERVICES ORDINANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1967,

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Emergency (Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance) (Amendment) Regulations 1967.

2. During the continuance in force of these regulations. Section 124 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance is amended by deleting subsection (1) and substituting therefor the following new subsection-

"(1) Where a person who has the right to effect the disposal of the human remains of any person-

(a) within the period of forty-eight hours after the

buman remains are received into any mortuary—

(1) has not made to the person having the management or control of the mortuary a claim to possession thereof; or

(ii) abandoos the right to effect the disposal thereof; or

(b) having made a claim to possession of the human remains within such period of forty-eight hours, does not take possession of the human remains and remove them from the mortuary within forty-eight hours after he bas made the claim,

the right to effect the disposal of the human remains shall vest in the Authority, and the Authority may arrange-for thë disposal of them in any manner it may think fit",
