Explanatory Note.
(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended
to indicate their general purport).
The regulations make minor amendments to the principal regula tions, in the light of experience of the working of the legal mid scheme.
Regulation 1 empowers the Director to advance money to an sided person's solicitor to cover expenses.

3. Regulation 3 makes it the duty of the aided person's solicitor, lastead of the Director, to notify the other parties to an action that hés client is an added person.

Regulation 4 makes amendments which follow from the transfer of regulation 14(1) of the principal regulations to the Ordinance and also allows for the payment of money due to be paid by the Director to en sided person to be made by the Director to the court or to soute other person, if the court so orders,

Resolution made and passed by the Legislative Council under section 133 of the Magistrates Ordinance on the 30th day of March 1967.
Resolved, pursuant to section 133 of the Magistrates Ordin- ance, that the Magistrates (Forms) Rules 1967, made by the Chief Justice on the 3rd day of March 1967 under section 133 of that Ordinance, be approved.
