part of the final register relating to an electoral district, whichever fe is the lesser, furnish to the applicant a copy of the final register or of part thereof:
Provided that nothing in this regulation shall impose on the registr tion officer the obligation to cause the final register or any part thereof to be reprinted after stocks of copies thereof have become exhausted.
27. As soon as the returning officer has published a notice of nomination in respect of any election in accordance with the Urban Council Elections (Procedure) Regulations 1955, the registration officer shall fumish to each validly nominated candidate on application by him or by his election agent two copies of the final register free of charge.
28. In respect of each election and as soon as a notice of nomina tions has been published the registration officer shall transmit to the returning officer two copies of the final register for each polling station and such additional copies thereof as the returning officer may require.
POLL CARDS.
29. On or before the 1st day of June 1967 and on or before the 1st day of March in the year 1969 and in each alternate year thereafter the registration officer shall post to each elector a poll card in accordance with Form 8 in the Schedule.
EVIDENCE.
30. (1) Production to the registration officer of any of the certifi cates specified in paragraph (2) shall be accepted by him as evidente of the truth of the facts stated therein, but nothing in this regulation shall be taken to prejudice the right of any person to object to the inclusion in any final register of the name of any person to whom any such certificate relates or in respect of whom such a certificate was issued, and at the hearing before the revising officer of any such objec tion the certificate shall be prima facie evidence only of the truth of such facts.
(2) The certificates referred to in paragraph (1) are-
(a) a certificate from the Commissioner of Inland Revenue perti- fying that the person named therein has, for the year or years of assessment specified therein, paid salaries tax assessed under Part III of the Inland Revenue Ordinance or tax assessed under Part VII of that Ordinance pursuant to an election for personal assessment, or that the business named therein has, for the year or years of assessment specified therein, paid business profits tax assessed under Part IV of that Ordinance;

(b) a certificate from the supervisor or headmaster of any school
exempted from the Education Ordinance 1952 by section 6 (33 of 1952. thereof certifying that the person named therein was, on the 1958
Reprint) date or during the period specified therein, a teacher in such school:
(c) a certificate from the employer of the staff of any newspaper or other periodical publication, or news agency or broadcast- ing service certifying that the person named therein was, on the date or during the period specified therein, employed by him on the full-time staff of the newspaper, news agency or broadcasting service, as the case may be, as the managing director or editor, or a sub-editor, reporter, photographer. commentator, producer or announcer.
GENERAL.
31. (1) Except as may be otherwise expressly provided to the Dispatch of contrary, any application or notice of objection which is under these matices, regulations to be lodged with the registration officer may be lodged with him by sending the same by pre-paid ordinary post addressed to him at his office.
(2) Except as may be otherwise expressly provided to the contrary, any notice which is required to be sent by the registration officer under these regulations to any person shall be sufficiently sent if sent by pre- paid ordinary post to the address of that person as given by him for the purpose or as appearing on a register prepared under the provisions of the Ordinance, or if there is no such address or a change of residential address has been reported by that person under the Registration of (18 of 1960). Persons Ordinance 1960, to the last address so notified or to his last known place of abode.
32. No misnomer or inaccurate description of any person or place Savina. on any list or on any register or in any notice shall prejudice the opera- tion of these regulations as respects that person or place if that person or place is so designated as to be commonly understood.

33. (1) The registration officer shall, for the convenience of the Chinese public, cause to be prepared and have available a Chinese translation translation of each of the Forms 1 to 8 (inclusive) in the Schedule, but in the event be available. of any conflict the English text shall prevail.
(2) The Chinese translation of any such form may, in the discre- tion of the registration officer, either be included with the English text in the one document or separate from the English text in a separate document in the like form.
(3) The provisions of this regulation shall apply also to the lists required by paragraph (2) of regulation 6 and by paragraph (4) of regulation 13 to be available with each form of application for inclusion in the provisional register or final register.
