Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

PART I.
CITATION AND INTERPRETATION.
This Ordinance may be cited as the District Court (Civil Short title Jurisdiction and Procedure) Ordinance, 1962, and shall come into and com
mencement. operation on the day appointed for the commencement of the District Court (Amendment) Ordinance, 1962.

In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires- "action" means a civil proceeding commenced by writ of summons or
in such manuer as may be prescribed:
