(Chapter 226).

REMAND HOME (Amendment) Rules, 1961,

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20 of the Juvenile Offenders Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following rules

1. These rules may be cited as the Remand Home (Amendment) Clution. Rules, 1961.

2. Rule 2 of the Remand Home Rules, 1955, (hereinafter Amendment referred to as the principal rules) is amended by the addition after of rule 2. the definition "juvenile" of the following new definition—

"Social Welfare Officer" means the Director of Social Welfare.".

3. The principal rules are amended by the addition after rule 14 Addition of of the following new rule- "Oelegation. 15. The Social Welfare Officer may delegate any of his powers, duties or functions under these rules to the Principal Probation Officer.".

Explanatory Note.

The purpose of these rules is to enable the Director of Social Welfare to delegate to the Principal Probation Officer the exercise of such of his powers, duties or functions under the Remand Home Rules, 1955, as he may from time 10 time consider appropriate.
