3. The words "district registrar" or "district registrars" as the case may be shall be substituted for the designation "assistant registrar" or "Assistant Registrar" or "assistant registrars" wherever the same occurs in the principal Ordinance and the Schedules thereto and in any regulations made thereunder and in any forms relating to or used in vanexion with births and deaths registration.

Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) by the deletion from subsection (1) of the word “Medical”
and the substitution therefor of the following-
"Registrar General's" ;
(b) by the deletion from subsection (2) of the words “Director of Medical and Health Services" and the substitution therefor of the following →
"Registrar General.
(c) by the deletion of the proviso to subsection (3) and the
substitution therefor of the following-
First Schedule.
**Provided that unless and until otherwise directed by the Governor, the officer in charge of each police slation mentioned in the First Schedule shall be a district registrar of deaths for that district."!
5. Subsection (1) of section 29 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the insertion before the word "Schedule" of the following-
"Second"-

An Ordinance to amend the Registrar General (Establishment)
Ordinance, Chapter 100.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows—
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Registrar General Short title (Establishment) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1957, and shall come and into operation on the 1st day of April, 1957.
