12. Regulation 39 of the principal regulations is amended by the deletion of sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (b).
13. Regulation 40 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) by the addition in paragraph (2) after the words "ballot
papers" of the following-
"and tendered ballot papers";
(b) by the deletion of paragraph (c) and the substitution
therefor of the following-
"(e) unused and spoilt tendered ballot papers.”.
14. Regulation 45 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) by the deletion of the words "each box" and the sub-
stitution therefor of the following-
"the boxes from each polling station";
(b) by the deletion at the end thereof of the full stop and the
addition of the following-
"other than the tendered ballot papers which be shall set aside to be dealt with later.".
15. Regulation 49 of the principal regulations is amended by the addition after paragraph (d) of the following new paragraph-- "(e) which is substantially mutilated;”.
18. Regulation 54 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) by the deletion at the end of sub-paragraph (a) (ii) of
paragraph (1) of the word "and";
(b) by the addition at the end of sub-paragraph (a) of para-
graph (1) of the following-
"(iv) tendered ballot papers; and
(v) portions of ballot papers containing no votes;”.
17. Regulation 56 of the principal regulations is rescinded and replaced by the following new regulation-
"Disposal
of ballot
papers etc.
56. As soon as is practicable after the registration of the election the returning officer shail forward to the registration officer-
(a) the statement referred to in paragraph (2) of
regulation 54:
(b) the statement referred to in paragraph (3) of
regulation 50;
(c) all the material dealt with under regulation 54;
(d) all notices of nomination, notices of appoint- ment of clection agents, notices of appoint- ment of polling agents and notices of appoint- ment of counting agents received by him.”.

(d) by the deletion in Form 7 of the word "Angual" and the
substitution therefor of the following-
"Ordinary";
(e) by the deletion in Forms 14 and 17 of the word "occupa
tion" and the substitution therefor of the following-
"description**;
() by the deletion in Form 20 of the figures "69" and the
substitution therefor of the figures "zo".
