Amendment

Table and the fee shown in the second column ser opposite each type of vehicle shall be the fee payable annually in respect thereof. All licences shall be renewed annually on the date or at the time shown in the third column opposite each item.

Provided that the Commissioner of Police may, if he considers it necessary or expedient so to do, for the purpose of effecting the renewal of any licence or class of licence grant days of grace nut exceeding fifteen in number.".

4. The principal regulations are amended by the addition pal regula after regulation 6 of the following new regulation-

of princi-

tions.

"BA. (1) Any person who wishes to act as a driving instructor shall, before he so aus-

(a) pass the test required by the Commissioner of Police for the purpose of satisfying himself as to the fitness of the person to give lessons; and

(b) obtain the written permission of the Commissioner of Police, which may be withdrawn at any time, so to act with regard to the category of vehicle mentioned thereon.

(a) A fee of $20.00 payable in advance shall be charged for each test held in pursuance of the provisions of sub- paragraph (a) of paragraph (1).

(3) An annual fee of $50.00 shall be charged for a written permission of the Commissioner of Police issued under the provisions of sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (1) :

Provided that when any person satisfies the Commis- sioner of Police that he will act gratuitously as driving Instructor to one named person only such fact shall be men- tioned in the written permission, in which case, it shall be lawful for the Commissioner of Police to waive the fee."'.

Regulation 7 of the principal regulations is amended-- (a) in paragraph (2)-

(i) by the deletion of sub-paragraph (b) and the sub-

stitution therefor of the following-

(b) that he shall be accompanied in a motor

vehicle by a driving instructor;"';

() by the deletion of sub-paragraph (c) and the sub-

stitution therefor of the following-

"(c) that no person other than a driving in- structor shall be carried as a passenger;";

(ii) by the deletion of the semi-colon at the end of sub-paragraph (e) and the addition at the end thereof of the following-

"readily accessible to the driving instructor rid- ing therein;";

(b) by the deletion of paragraph (3) and the substitution

therefor of the following-

"(3) Conditions (b) and (e) of paragraph (2) shall not apply to motor cycles and motor assisted pedal cycles.";

(c) by the deletion of paragraph (5) and the substitution

therefor of the following-

"(s) No learner driver's licence shall be issued to a person for the driving of a motor vehicle licensed as a public vehicle, taxicab or commercial vehicle unless he has attained the age of 21 years, and has held a licence to drive a motor vehicle, other than a motor cycle or motor assisted pedal cycle, licensed as private vehicle for a period of not less than three years.";
