TRADE MARKS (Amendment) RULES, 1953-
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 57 of the Trade Marks Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following rules--
1. These rules may be cited as the Trade Marks (Amend. Citation. ment) Rules, 1953-

Rule 33 of the Trade Marks Rules (hereinafter referred to Amendment as the principal rules) is amended by the deletion from the second of rule 33. (Val. VIII, and third lines of the words "once a month in the Gasette for p. 237). a period of three months" and the substitution therefor of the following-

"in one issue of the Gazette”.
Rule 35 of the principal rules is amended by the deletion Aroendment from the second line of the words "three months from the date of rule 35. of the first advertisement" and the substitution therefor of the
following-
"two months from the date of the advertisement"

These rules reduce from three to one the number of advertisements required of an application for the registration of a trade mark, thereby reducing advertising fees. They also reduce the period allowed for opposition from three months to two months.
