if such medical practitioner so recommends, subject to such conditions as to supervision, periodic medical examination, the care and control of such person or otherwise as the Governor may think fit."
3. The principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following new sections as sections 18 and 1g thereof

18. Where a medical practitioner in charge of a mental bospital is of opinion that a person detained therein under the provisions of section 10 or of section 7 has become of sound mind but that it is desirable in the interest of such person or in the public interest that the discharge of such person should be conditional on the observance of one or more of the following conditions--
(a) periodic mental examination i
(b) the care or control or supervision of such
person by some responsible person or body, the Governor may order that the discharge of such person shall be conditional on the observance of such condition or conditions.
18. In any case in which a warrant under sub- section (5) of section 16 or an order under section 18 has been given upon condition it shall be lawful warrant or for the Governor to revake such warrant or order and eli-- tional order of discharge.
such revocation shall operate and have the same effect as if a magistrate had made a valid order for the detention in a mental hospital of the person to whom the warrant or order related."

An Ordinance to amend the Industrial and Reformatory
Schools Ordinance, Chapter 225.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice
and consent of the Legislative Council thereof :
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Industrial and Short title. Reformatory Schools (Amendment) Ordinance, 1952.
2. The following sections shall be added immediately after Addition section 21 of the principal Ordinance--
"Leave of absence.
21A. (1) The manager of a reformatory school may grant any youthful offender leave of absence from the reformatory school for such periods as may be prescribed.
