10. Section 61 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "within the year of assessment or within three years after the expiration thereof" appearing in the fifth, sixth and seventh lines, and the substitution therefor of the words "at any time not later than three years after the expiration of the year of assessment in which the return required by section 52 has been furnished".

11. Section 81 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion of "52(2), 52(6), or 74(2)" in lines one and two in subsection (1)(c) and the substitution therefor of the following-

**16(2), 31, 52(2), 52(6) or 74(2)"'.

12. (1) This Ordinance shall be deemed to have had effect from the 1st day of April, 1951, and shall apply to all assessments in respect of the year of assessment 1951/52 and subsequent years? of assessment :

Provided that-

(1) the provisions of paragraph (b) of section z of this Ordinance and paragraph (b) of section 4 of this Ordinance shall only apply where cessation occurs during the year of assessment 1952/53 or any subsequent year of assessment; and

(ii) the provisions of section 10 of this Ordinance shall also apply to any year of assessment prior to the year of assessment 1951/52.

(2) Save as provided in subsection (1) of this section, this Ordinance shall not affect any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the principal Ordin- ance in respect of any year of assessment prior to the year of assessment 1951/52 notwithstanding that the assessments in respect of such prior years be made subsequent to the coming into force of this Ordinance.

An Ordinance to provide for the incorporation of the Hong Kong Housing Society.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof :

1. This Ordinance may be cited as The Hong Kong Short title. Housing Society Incorporation Ordinance, 1951.
