83. The Governor in Council may by notification in the Gazette specify the rate of exchange applicable for the purpose of calculating the Hong Kong dollar equivalent of foreign currencies.
84. The Director of Commerce and Industry shall have the right to require the importer to produce consular or other certified invoices, and where such invoices are not produced or where the information on such invoices is not considered correct, he may fix a price which shall be deemed to be the price for the calculation of duty."

"Provided that unless the Commis- sioner in any particular case with the approval of the Governor in Council otherwise directs-

(a) in the case of any death occurring or before the 7th day of December, 1944, t10 interest under this subsection shall be payable in respect of the period from the 8th day of December, 1941, to the 2nd day of March, 1946, and no part of the said period shall be taken into con- sideration for the purpose of computation of the period of six months referred to in this subsec- tion, and
(b) in the case of any death occurring subsequent to the 7th day of December, 1941, and prior to the 2nd day of March, 1946, the latter date shall be substituted for the date of death referred to in the third and fifth lines of this sub- section.";
(b) by the addition after subsection (7) of the
following-
"(8) Where the estate duty pay- able exceeds two hundred dollars it may be paid either by means of Stamps or by such other means as the Commissioner may from time to time direct.""
