PART III.

13. Any person who is guilty of an offence against this Ordinance, or who fails to observe any condition imposed by the Commissioner of Police under section 3, shall on summary conviction by a magistrate be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars.

Au Ordinance to amend the Education Ordinance, 1913.

Be it enacted by the Governor in Council, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Education (Amand- Short title. ment) Ordinance, 1948, and shall be read as one with the

Ordinance Education Ordinance, 1913, bareinafter referred to as the principal o. 26 of Ordinance.

2. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is hereby nmended Amendment as follows:-

(1) aub-section (d) thereof is repealed and replaced by- principal

(2) sub-section (*) thereof is reposled and replaced by- (0) Sab-inspector MARITA a sub-inspector appointed under the provisions of section 4 and shall include any inspector appointed under section 9 of the Urban Council Ordinance, 1935."

Sub-section (2) of section 9 of the principal Ordinance Amendment is hereby amended by the deletion of the figures, words and letters of section 9

10(e) and (b) appearing in the seventh line thereof and by of the
